Holland & Barrett to ban hundreds of beauty products over claims they contain 'toxic ingredients'

Leading beauty products including shampoos and moisturisers have been banned by a High Street chain over claims they contain toxic ingredients.
Holland & Barrett will be the first major name to remove any product that contains parabens or sodium lauryl sulphate from its 525 stores.
The unexpected and controversial decision puts the chain in direct opposition to the biggest names in the beauty industry who rely on these ingredients and insist they are proven safe.

New Parent Report

A new report released last week by the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics found that 23 out of the 28 children’s bath products they tested contained Formaldehyde — a chemical which is considered a “probable carcinogen” by the Environmental Protection Agency. The chemical, which is not added intentionally to the product, is released over time as preservatives break down in the container.
